My favorite photographers…part I
Posted on November 25th, 2008 by Ryan Nicholson.
I decided to start a weekly series where I highlight some of my favorite photographers. These are the people I seek out for inspiration and perhaps the readers of this blog will be inspired as well.
I was initially drawn to an image he shot of Naomi Watts which you can see on his website in the “Actors Women” gallery. I don’t remember which magazine I initially viewed the image in but I was immediately drawn to it. The location, the wardrobe, the light, it could be the opening scene of a film.
Like most of my favorite photographers he has range. He shoots everything from portraits to advertising but he has maintained his signature style no matter what he is shooting. He recently shot a 30 page editorial for GQ magazine which you can read more about at “A Photo Editor’s” blog here. Great to see a piece like that in these days of cutbacks and shrinking budgets.
Kudos to you Mr. Riedel!
